UHCHI Recognized at the 2025 Chicago On Tap Fest

by UHCHI Staff, Carlos Mata

The annual Chicago On Tap Fest, presented by the Meals on Wheels Chicago Associate Board, once again brought together an impressive lineup of local breweries and restaurants for an evening dedicated to community, culinary excellence, and charitable giving.

This year, UHCHI was honored to participate as a food vendor for the first time. Under the leadership of Chef Victor Martinez, a team of UHCHI apprentices showcased their skills and dedication by preparing and serving over 800 portions of a reimagined Mac N’ Cheese dish. Their efforts did not go unnoticed—UHCHI was proudly awarded the event’s “Best Bites” honor, a testament to the talent and hard work of our culinary team.

When asked to reflect on UHCHI’s recent success at Chicago On Tap Fest 2025, Chef Victor Martinez shared the following words:

“I would love to take a moment—humbly and with deep appreciation—to share a bit about Chi Tap Fest 2025, and to help promote this incredible event that brought together so many talented individuals in the city.

First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank all the bars and restaurants that participated, the dedicated volunteers, and of course, our amazing apprentices. Your hard work, passion, and spirit truly made this event something special.

It was an absolute honor to be recognized among the best of Chicago’s culinary food scene. We are truly humbled to have received the People’s Choice Award—a recognition that means so much because it came directly from the guests who experienced the food and the energy we brought to the event.

For our part, we served Mac and Cheese two ways:
– Braised Short Rib Mac and Cheese
– Forest Mushroom Mac and Cheese

We are so proud of what our team accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant and community-driven celebration.

Thank you all again for your continued support—and here’s to more delicious collaborations ahead!”

We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers of Chicago On Tap Fest for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful and impactful event. You can learn more about their mission and work [here].

We would also like to recognize Chef Tiffany Hendrix for generously contributing her Wine & Dine Experience to the event raffle on behalf of UHCHI. Your continued support means the world.

Lastly, we wish to acknowledge the UHCHI apprentices who volunteered their time and effort throughout the week. It is our ongoing mission to uphold and promote a culture of excellence. Their commitment was instrumental in making this endeavor a success.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success. Being part of a community that values teamwork, service, and impact is truly something special.
